Advanced smartphones are not always expensive or require a fortune to upgrade. Budget phones offer advanced features at a reasonable price. We do not expect much quality, performance, and style from these devices. But the Xiaomi Redmi 14C took us by surprise. The recently launched device has a sleek design that advances your style statement, performs well, and keeps your budget reasonable. Its presentation made us review the device, as Redmi 14C’s price in Pakistan is unbelievable for everything it offers.
What’s Best About Redmi 14C?
- Offers ideally low light photography experience
- Sleek finish that adds more to your style statement
- Attractive Starry Blue and Matte Leather finish in green
- The ultra-fast processor makes multi-tasking simple
- Bigger battery supporting fast charging
Redmi 14C – A Detailed Review
On the Unboxing
Opening the box of Xiaomi phones is always delightful. You do not have to buy the accessories as the box carries it all. So, on opening the box, we found:
- Redmi 14C device
- A C-type charging cable
- 18W Power Adapter
- A silicon phone cover
An Attention Drawing Design
There is no shame in admitting that the Redmi 14C has a beautiful design and look. It is so captivating that apart from its features against the pricing, the looks were why we stepped into its review. Coming in an 8.22mm ultrathin body with glass back and leather back finishes, it’s just too pleasant to the eyes. The overall colors of the phone are unique, from Sage Green in leather texture to Midnight Black, Dreamy Purple, and Starry Blue. The Starry Blue looks like a galaxy in your palm.
We are not usually happy with budget phones’ camera bumps, but the Redmi 14C came with a textured and styled bump. Though it’s a big circle, it has an excellent proportion, so you will not find it odd or out of design.
Comfortable Display
Redmi 14C is less on price but not in its size; it comes with a 6.88-inch screen size having TUV Rheinland certification that ensures low blue light emission and a flicker-free display. Plus, the 120Hz refresh rate of the screen makes the transition graphics even smoother. We did not find any frame missing or slowed graphics on the device. Additionally, the prolonged use of the device did not strain our eyes, giving a comfortable usage experience.
Fast Processor with Efficient OS Customization
On the features list, when we read about the MediaTek Helio G81-Ultra processor in Redmi 14C, we did not find it amusing. The same processor was used on the new device but with a little upgrade. However, experiencing it with the combination of 2.0GHz Cortex-A75+Cortex-A55Max CPU and Mali-G52 MC2 was slightly different. Conclusively, it made a difference, making the device work efficiently and fast in multi-tasking and moderate gaming. When performance is not a hit, the processor is somehow acceptable, as it matches Pakistan’s Redmi 14C price balance.
Another thing we find valuable is the Xiaomi HyperOS powered by Android. It’s one of the sleekest and most customizable Android user interfaces, letting you use and control your device just the way you like. From the home screen to the themes, default colors, and more, you have complete control over setting up the device. We loved customizing the OS, and it’s really convenient.
Budget Phone for Low Light Photography
For photography freaks, we do not recommend that they get budget phones. It simply makes them feel bad about the camera. Usually, we do not experience a versatile camera in budget phones, but the Redmi 14C differs. It offers a 50MP axillary lens f.1.8 primary camera, giving you perfect images even in low light. We click a few fantastic pictures in the low light settings, providing decent details.
The 13MP camera on the front is designed to provide clear and lively selfies. The soft ring light on the front makes the selfies even brighter and more balanced. Overall, we found the camera to be really good for classy pictures.
Redmi 14C records at HD 1080p, which means you get smooth, quality videos as well. This makes your overall experience with the camera pleasant. For a budget phone, the camera kit seems nice and workable.
Bigger & Better Battery
One thing we love about budget phones is their battery capacity and timing. Since the phones are not performing well, their batteries work well. However, for Redmi 14C, things are a bit different. It’s a performing phone with a good processor and overall functionality, but its battery is still good.
We have used its 5160mAh battery for a whole day, playing games, music, media files, or multitasking. It gives a good power time of about 20+ hours on robust use, which is nice to work with. The 18W fast charging with USB C-type adds value to the Redmi 14C price in Pakistan. We did not find it pricey at all as it still matches the launch price of Redmi 13C with advanced options.
Multiple Storage Options
Storage is one of the main concerns we have seen in budget phones. We were delighted to learn that Redmi 14C offers storage variations.
- 4GB RAM + 128GB Storage
- 4GB RAM + 256GB Storage
- 6GB RAM + 128GB Storage
- 8GB RAM + 256GB Storage
We recommend getting at least 6GB of RAM, as it will provide you with a better experience with medium-range mobile games and multitasking. However, these variants allow you to expand the RAM up to 16GB and have 1TB of storage.
This flexibility by Redmi 14C makes the budget phone a really nice option. We cannot normally expect this much flexibility in a budget device. It shows that Xiaomi is taking things further by improvising its technology.
The Verdict!
If you are looking for a high-quality and impressive smartphone on a budget, Redmi 14C is the right choice. With its stunning looks and competitive features, the Redmi 14C price in Pakistan makes it a justified purchase. Xiaomi is not promising a high-end user experience with the phone. Still, it’s the best bargain you can make for a budget. Moreover, you will be getting two years of software and security updates, making the use of the device convenient.
